Ministries Updates

The Bread and Roses sandwich ministry committee is still intact, and we plan on resuming making sandwiches at the end of October for delivery to Bread and Roses.

The Prayers and Posies ministry has been on hold. I suspended this due to COVID, but I am now able to leave flower bouquets at nurse’s stations in various nursing homes. Flowers are nature’s way of saying we love, we care, we remember. Patients’ faces light up when they receive a prayers and posies bouquet because it makes them feel cared for and special, which they indeed are.

The Angels of Hope ministry was also suspended due to COVID. However, I will be starting this up again soon. If anyone knows of a parishioner who is in a nursing home or who is disabled at home and would like an angel of hope, please let me know. Although I may not be able to see the person face to face in a facility, I can certainly leave it with a nurse. Visiting a shut-in at home would only take about five minutes and would bring so much joy.

The Corpus Christi Card Ministry is still going strong. With so many parishioners afraid to attend Mass because of the virus, it would be nice to have a thinking-of-you card sent to them so they feel they are not forgotten. If anyone knows of a parishioner who would like a thinking-of-you card or a card of encouragement, please let me know. Also, if any parishioner is ill, please let me know so that I can send a get-well card. I also send sympathy and milestone birthday cards as well, so your help is important and deeply appreciated to ensure our beloved parishioners know we care. Each card is accompanied with a note and a prayer card to add just a little more caring. Thank-you for any help you can provide.

Hopefully, these ministries will be able to resume in full when the virus subsides.
