In attendance were Father Mawn, Father Peter, Father Francis, Pedro Cosme, Patricia Ferguson, Wayne Pickles, Connie Pickles, Cesar Tellez, Frank Sapienza, Josie Paolino, Patricia Mariano and Thomas Witham. Absent were Carl Benanti, Marilinda Cruz, Gabriela Calouro, and Fatima Andrade.

Father Mawn opened the meeting with a prayer.

Religious Education Update
– The religious education program is continuing with success.
– Lois Cosme and Marilinda Cruz are in the process of scheduling Virtus training.

New Business
– The Archdiocese has approved our church to become a shrine. The proposed name would be Holy Rosary Shrine. The date of transition is December 1. New signs will be made. A parish council member showed some ideas of what the new signs could look like. Father Peter will check with Ray DiFiore to get the name of the sign company who made our current signs.
– The bathroom located next to the meeting room in the current rectory has no heat, which is a concern for the pipes with the cold weather coming. Plans are underway to refurbish the pipes so that they will not freeze.
– The new floor is finished in the downstairs church. All of the ceiling tiles have been replaced. New confessionals have been installed, and the restoration work continues. All of the statues are covered in thick plastic for protection as we await their new stands.
– Engineers and architects are currently working on plans for the rectory, which will be demolished hopefully by the end of the year. The current rectory office area may be saved, since it sustained minimal water damage. The new rectory will be separated from the church by 10 feet. Father Peter displayed a plan showing how the new rectory may be built.
– When our shrine is fully transitioned, our Franciscans suggested having a 40 hour adoration at some point, as well as many other spiritual gatherings.
– We will continue to have parish council meetings under our new leadership. However, we are deciding on a new name for the council.

Parish Projects and Maintenance
– The current bathroom located next to the meeting room in the current rectory has no heat, which is a concern for the pipes with the cold weather coming. Plans are underway to refurbish the pipes so that they will not freeze.
– There have been several complaints about the outdated sound system. The system will be checked, and possibly upgraded.
