THANK YOU
There was a typo in our bulletin two weeks ago. It reads that “thank you to the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality for their $2,000 donation to the parish.” The right note is Thanks to the Holy Name Society for their $3,000 donation to the parish.
YEAR OF THE EUCHARIST
Cardinal Sean has proclaimed a Year of the Eucharist so that we might grow in our understanding and appreciation of this great gift. The Catholic Church teaches that the bread and wine at Mass become the Body and Blood of Christ, and not merely symbols. Originally set to begin last Holy Thursday, this special year begins today with our patronal feast, Corpus Christi or the Body and Blood of Christ, and will continue until the Feast of Corpus Christi in 2021.
CORONAVIRUS
We continue following the directives of the Archdiocese and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to limit any direct contact during Mass, or in any church gathering for that matter. This includes no gathering before or after Mass even in the parking lot. Masks must be worn in church. Communion must be received in the hand etc. At the present time the upper church can seat only 145, and the lower church 45.
FINANCES
Thanks to those who have mailed in their contributions to the parish, as well as those who have resumed their direct giving for the offertory and the current Spring Collection, $14,000 so far, compared to $10,000 last year! Thank you. If you will be away this summer, please remember that we still have bills for electric [a/c], a prorated gas bill, building and individual insurances etc.
CATHOLIC APPEAL 2020
Everyone is looking for money! This includes the Archdiocese of Boston. As of June 29th, as a parish, we’ve contributed $8,467 or 30% of our Catholic Appeal 2020 assessment of $27,000. Remember this is no longer a “goal” but rather an assessment. At present, we owe the Archdiocese some $19,000! Please consider giving. Thank you.
