From the Pastor – June 13th, 2021

Catholic appeal

As of June 7th 104 members of Corpus Christi Parish, had pleged $14,024 or 53% of our 2021 assessment of $26,685, leaving a balance of $12,685.
If you completed a new or second pledge card where you could note “I already gave” or “cannot do so at present”, please place it the basket and we will get it to the archdiocese to support some 50 centralized ministries available to all parishes.

Church

The Office of Risk Management of the Archdiocese has set three priorities: first and foremost the upper church to clean up the soot and smoke damage, hopefully by the end of the month. Secondly, to do extensive clean up/repairs to the lower church, and finally the office/rectory. An architect is working on a plan to save at least part of the office/rectory.

We move forward slowly.

The business manager reminded me that our insurance only covers so much. We may need volunteer help with cleanup at some point.

Religious education

The confirmation classes continued this past school year, mostly on line. Five youth were confirmed by bishop Hennessey in April. We are waiting info from the Archdiocese for programs for the lower grades.

We will need volunteers to coordinate a grade/program, or block of grades.

Please consider helping.

Thank you,

Fr. Mawn
